YIQI ZHAO

Yiqi Zhao is a Master of Design Studies candidate in the concentration of Technology at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. Her background is across the fields of design computation, architecture, additive manufacturing, and digital media. Her current interests include responsive environment, tangible user interface, smart material, human computer interaction, wearable technology, AR/VR systems, and cognitive science related design.

Her vision is to encourage ownership of space while manipulating it, meaning that people not only can touch, interact, and respond to the environment but also project identity to it. She believes that the revolution of living can be accomplished through new technologies and new fabrication methods that consider the human experience in transforming critical issues from the real world into design solutions. In the end, these design solutions will blur the boundary of human, machines, and the built environment.
